What the Project School is about...

Happy people AEGEE is organising several huge European projects every year, which involve dozens of local groups. In addition, there are smaller  projects with just two or three conferences or other actions. However, 80 percent of all European projects in AEGEE  don't work at all or don't reach the results they could have with a better management. There are several reasons -  mostly the geographic distance makes a coordination very hard, also in the process of organising many organisersWorkshop forget to keep an eye on the results they want to reach. Finally, even if projects were successful, the results are usually not utilised. But even if the organisers do all steps right, a certain bad taste remains regarding the topics of the projects. AEGEE is not a front-runner of European discussions anymore, as it still was in the 80ies - now there are many relevant topics in society that AEGEE is not keeping an eye on.
The best example is the accession of ten new countries to the EU in 2004. AEGEE is accompanying this huge step in European history with the big project "European Identity", in which interested organisers in different countries could find one platform. However, six months before the EU accession the project still needs some shaping.
In case you want to know how to make a successful project, in case you are or want to be involved in a European AEGEE project - either in the managing team or as local organiser - the Project School will provide you with the necessary knowledge to make your work in AEGEE Creating posters more successful. This counts for you especially, when you want to be in the project "European Identity". The Project School will give you the chance to jump in the current projects!
Like in a European School, you will get a mixture of lectures, discussions and exciting workshops in the morning, plus practising these contents in the so called case work in the afternoon. Still, Siploma ceremony the learning goals and topics are very different from a normal European School. The knowledge provided will you also help in organising international AEGEE exchanges, Travelling Summer Universities and other events. Your trainers will be some of the most experienced people in the network. On the pictures on the page you will find impressions of several European School, which are quite similar in its general structure to the Project School. Of course, we cannot show you pictures of a Project School itself, since this will be the very first of its kind.
Komarno, place of the Project School, is a cosy and very pretty small town with 40.000 inhabitants at the Danube, the most southern spot of Slovakia. The university of Komárno is just two years old and because it's so new, it is supporting AEGEE quite strongly.
